What a week

We have had a great week. It's seemed long, mainly because of the frigid temps. 

But it has been good. We were home by 4 three days this week and only stayed late the other two days because of basketball. Which by the way you won again today. 10-6 against the Red team. 

Intense and Proud

Tonight you played two ball games. One at the Rec center and one at the High School. Unfortunately y'all lost the first one 10-7. But you played an excellent game and handled the loss instyle. For that I'm proud. 

Y'all won the second one at the High School. You played regular baskeball with fast breaking allowed. It was like watching a regular basketball game. 

Rest?

We had a day off from school today. So we took advantage of the 65 degree January day. It's supposed to be cold the rest if the week. 

So we marked off a baskeball court for you to practice and I worked in the yard. We finally burned some boxes too. We went to the mausoleum today for mommies birthday and ate supper with Mamaw Brenda. We found out granny Porter is in the hospital with heart problems again and Mawmaw Kathy is having a severe allergic reaction to something. Lolo is also having difficulty from a dental procedure. Aside from all the bad news we had an enjoyable day. It may not have been "rest" but it was fun to be home. 

Wow is all I can say

The scoreboard says it all. Start of the 4th and zero all.  It has been a very physical game.

And apparently we have over time!

And after overtime we still have a tie!  Physical game!

Well y'all played your third game tonight and won. 12-10. You were so proud of your team. Several of them scored tonight.  This means y'all officially beat all three teams in the 3rd grade!  You had several supporters. John Yordy and his mother came along with David, Beth, Alex, Mamaw and me. Afterwards we went to Ricatoni's and ate. Go Silver!

Wow

We just thought last night's basketball game was tough. Today was more physical!  Y'all pulled it out though. Once again you got the only three points for your team. The score was 3-2 agian!  

After the game we went to Pizza Hut for lunch. We all knew you were exhausted because of the attitude. But we all ( Mamaw, Papaw and Mamaw) had a good visit. 

First basketball game.

Tonight you had your first basketball game. It was a hard fought win 3-2, you were the home team.

You made all three points. A two pointer and and a free throw. You also fouled the other team 4 times which is how they got their 2 points. You also made a shot and the ball stuck on the rim!

  Overall it was a good game you just got to learn not to get too emotional.

Straight A's

Back to the grind

Connor and I went back to school/work today. Not much to report on. It wasn't a bad day in fact everything went smooth. After school we went to Papa Murphy's and got supper then came home. We played two games of pool but pretty much lazed around. 

It's Great to be an Auburn Tiger

While we did not win we enjoyed the day walking around Auburn. We saw Samford hall and Toomers corner. It was bitter sweet because we had hoped to be taking pictures of the "rolled corner" but it was still nice nonetheless. 

On the way home we stopped in Montgomery where got you some new shoes. You are in a size 8!  Wow! Then we came home played pool and you taught me SETS.

BCS National Championship

The weather and roads cooperated with us. It was extremely cold but we went to Auburn to root for our Tigers. We visited with Whitley and her new boyfriend Alan. We went to Bob's Victory Grill to watch the game. The Auburn Basketball team ate with us. Auburn started off great they led 21-10 at half. Everyone was excited. However third quarter was rough and we struggled the rest of the game. We ended up losing the game with 13 seconds. The score was 34-31 Florida State. It was very painful. We had a great time but it was sickening. We decided to focus on the fact that we beat Bama and won the SEC Championship game. We only one 3 games last year and this year we won 12!  No one ever thought that we could or would get to play and championship much less play such a close game.

We went back to Whitley's and you watched RV and went to sleep.

Winter

Not much to report on today. We went to church but left early just in time for the temperature to plumit. By 9pm it was in the 20's and supposed to get down around 10. The real story is, will we be able to get to Auburn tomorrow?  The high is 15 and the roads may not be safe. We can only wait and see. I have spoken with Whitley and we are still welcome if we can get there. Connor and Sam turned in early in hopes of a road trip tomorrow. I really want to go, but even more I want to be there if Auburn wins. That's what the trip is really about. I dread it if we don't win because Connor may not take it so well. Oh well time will tell. Praying power stays on, pawpaw gets to stay home, and the roads clear up. 

Basketball

Well you come back today from Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house. We played three games of pool, you won 2 of the 3. The Vandy game was on today, they won (the geeks shall inherit the turf) Go Vandy!  We went to basketball practice today. Coach Roberts from Red Bay helped Laura Beth today. He made the parents play too! 

After practice we met Mawmaw Brenda in Russellville at El Patrons and ate. You and her went on to Red Bay and I went home to take care of Sam. You packed your video games to play at Mawmaw's. 

So we are going to have to wait and see if this weather forecaster Uncle David got me is right. It's predicting snow!

January 3rd

I went to work today and got stuff ready to be out Monday and Tuesday so we could go to Auburn for the National Championship game. You stayed with Mawmaw today. I know everyone is talking about the weather and how it is the coldest it has been since 1996.

 

January 2nd

Today was a little busier than normal. We both slept til nearly 11 then we played a little pool and got ready for your basketball practice at 4. Afterwards, we packed your stuff and you went to stay with Mawmaw and Pawpaw so I could go to work tomorrow. Tonight Alabama lost the Sugar Bowl to Oklahoma 45-31.

New Years Day

Today was another lazy day around the house. We played pool and video games again and watched lots of football. Tonight we went to McDonalds and ate with Mawmaw Brenda, Eloise and Janie. Then we went and bought some groceries at Wal-Mart. We came home finished a ballgame and went to bed.

New Year Resolution

I decided this year that I would start a blog to describe our adventures/life. Some of it will be boring, some of it will be exciting, but it will serve as memories. I look forward to posting updates and trying to back date our adventures as I have time.
