Catching up

It's been a few weeks since I've posted so I have a few stories to share, but for the most part we have been taking it easy. Last weekend I have a math tournament so you went and stayed with Alex for the first time ever. We met at cici's and ate then you went bowling where you bowled and played grap machines.
Then you went to their house were you played xbox, watched Olympics and had a late night snack.
You got up early and had some adventures around the house with Pawpaw David and Alex.
Then y'all went to Red Robyn to eat before the Hokey game. Y'all went to see the Huntsville Havocs play the Mississippi Turtles and watch a weenie dog race on ice. You feel in love with hockey.
We ended the day eating a Buffalo Wild Wings. You had an eventful weekend.

Cue Baseball

Well we have officially ended the basketball season and the weather has changed. We went from snow to spring over night. While y'all may have lost your last two games,y'all still had the best season. You celebrated at MegaSkate. Uncle David was finally able to make it to your last game.
On another note poor Frosty is finally turning into a puddle. He hung on for nearly a week!
Now we must turn our attention to baseball. You went and stayed Sunday night and Monday with  Mamaw Kathy while I went to work. You had a great time. Tuesday was nice enough to go out and practice some baseball!

Snow day 3

Such a beautiful view!  Snow is always an amazing sight to behold.  It makes everything look clean and pretty.  Just like Christ's blood does to our lives.
You posed for a few quick pictures.  Then we got straight to work on building our snowman.
We didn't name this one.  We did work very hard on this for over an hour.  The snow would not roll, it was too icy.  But we think we did an ok job it just wasn't as big as we had hoped.
Ceders along the drive.  Later I found out they had been broken.  I had to cut a few at the top:(  Oh well we can plant more.
Snow Angel
View from front porch.  It was beautiful the way the snow flocked the trees.
So, in order to get out of the drive we had to shovel our way out.  Brings back memories of the 2011 winter storm.  I swore then that I would be better prepared.  How quick we forget.  But I guess we can shovel a drive once every three years.  It helped that you were 9 this time and could help.
After our shoveling you decided to snow-bathe.  It was a first for me.  You were so tired!

The snowman is still going strong at 4 in the afternoon.

In other news for the day we watched a lot of Olympics and Dr. Who.  We saw the men's Alpine skier from the USA win Gold, Silver, and Bronze, the first time in history.  We also watched the US men's hockey beat Slovakia 1 to 7, and finally we saw the women's curling team win a match against Japan.  It appears that we will be going to school on time so we are going to bed at a descent time.

Snow Day 2 of 3

Well we awoke to rain. In fact it was nearly 40 degrees. It rained about all day. But around 3 o'clock it started.
Then about 30min later
Then after an hour
Then an hour and a half
We came inside after this. I made some snow cream, which you didn't like.
A little while later I went out to scrape the satellite dish and thought the hat had blowed away but it was completely covered.
And it's still snowing. It appears that we have a few more hours left of snow. Can't wait to see it in the morning.
I would speculate at 7 o'clock we have about 4 inches and still rising. The low tonight is 23 so it will still be there in the morning but with a high of 50 it won't last long.

8pm update. Still snowing and radar shows it might last awhile longer!  Up to 4.5 to 5".
Wish I could take descent pictures of what it looks like at night but the camera keeps focusing in the falling snow. So I guess I will have to get up early.

Snow...day 1 of at least 2

Today we awoke to a small snow. We got to stay home all day. We played in the snow briefly this morning. Sam didn't know what to think if the snow. She kept going back and forth looking out the windows.
Anyway it was not good packing snow. We found out around 5 that we get another day off because there is another unpresidented round developing. This next round is actually being forecast unlike the one last night. Which makes me question whether it will happen or not. Either way we are out. It is supposed to be a big mess if ice, rain and snow and not be over until Thursday morning. So we shall be in a holding pattern. I look at it as free days to watch the Winter Olympics. Go USA.

Last win over Red and Lego Movie

Today you played your last game against the Red team and won. This has always been a very rough group to play because of the way they double team people. You got 4 points of the 9 for your team.
You had a group of fans again today. Lolo, Mamaw Brenda, Alex, Beth, David and I cheered you on. Both Caleb and Zach scored today too!  Caleb actually almost fought a kid that shoved him.
After the game we all went to Champy's and ate. You, Lolo and Mamaw went to watch the Lego movie. I went home to watch the Olympics and to do taxes. You enjoyed the movie but it was so crowded y'all had to sit on the front row and Mawmaw had to sit with Griffen's family who happened to be there too.
I think Lolo bought you several things today. I know something about a popcorn maker and a turtle puppet. They also got you doughnuts and Papa John's pizza. This is the first time you have seen Lolo since our trip to the mountains after Christmas.

What a week...again!

Without going into great details this has been a very mentally tasking week. Thankfully it didn't involve you too much. We had a major issue that shook the school involving several students and a very prominent youth minister, Dr Stegall's mother passed away, and just a busy week was scheduled without these hard times.  On a bright note you got your progress report and it had all A's, one was an 89.6 which rounds. It kinda upset you. Also, McBride got two new ducks for the outdoor classroom and y'all voted on names. You wanted Papa John's and Saidie, but Quacker and Cheese won instead. You thought that was too silly, I thought it was funny.  We went last Saturday and visited both granny Porter and granny Hampton. Today you had a great game. You scored 11 of the teams 19 points for a victory over green.
You had a large crowd supporting you tonight. Colton, Carson, Cooper, Carolyn, Mamaw Brenda, Mamaw Kathy, Pawpaw Roger and I cheered you on. It was by far one of the best games I have seen you play.
